1953-60 studying mathematics at the Humboldt-University in Berlin and in Cologne.

1958 marriage with the physicist Ernst G. Lierke, a former schoolmate.

1962-1967 scientific employee at the Technical University in Aachen, establishing an international documentation-center for ultrasonics. At the same time, participating in painting classes at the Werkkunstschule in Aachen and in classes for enameling. Construction of a kiln for enameling and other high temperature tasks.

1967 the family moves with her two sons to Toledo/Ohio, U.S.A. – a city which houses three giant glass companies, and calls itself ‚glass capital of the world’.

Toledo is the place of Dominick Labino, one of the founders of the studio glass movement. The excellent glass collection of the museum and the well stocked libraries in Toledo permitted an intense private study of glass history and technology. After three years, the family returns to Germany.

1987-1988 again in the U.S.A. because of a NASA-research project of Ernst G. L. in Pasadena/Cal.. Rosemarie L. intensifies her scientific research of ancient glass technology.

Since 1988 visits and private investigations in more than 200 museums and glass collections in Europe and the United States, occasionally experiments in the workshops of studio glass friends, in glass plants or schools.

Since 1991 numerous presentations and publications about ancient glass technology.
